Whether you're seeking advice, looking to expand your network, or simply want to enjoy a cup of coffee in good company, the Monthly Mixers provides a relaxed and friendly environment for meaningful conversations and connections.

Anand Tucker is an award winning director, producer and writer, whose 1999 film, Hilary and Jackie, won him the BIFA Best Director Award and was called 'one of the best British films of the decade' by The Sunday Times.
Anand was the producer behind the multi-award winning film Girl With a Pearl Earring, which starred Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth and was nominated for a BIFA for Best Achievement in Production, a BAFTA for Best British Film and a host of Academy Awards.
His film And When Did You Last See Your Father? was released in 2007 and starred Jim Broadbent and Colin Firth. It was nominated for seven BIFAs including Best British Film and Best Director.
In 2009 Anand returned to his television roots, directing the critically acclaimed adaptation of David Peace's novel, Red Riding: Nineteen Eighty Three for Channel 4. In 2013 he directed the ABC pilot Gothica, which weaves together the mythology of various Gothic novels in a modern setting.
Anand directed the opening block of Indian Summers, an original drama series about the final years of British colonial rule in India, produced by New Pictures for Channel 4 and PBS. The opening episode drew 2.9 million viewers, making it the most successful Channel 4 drama launch in 20 years.
Most recently, Anand directed The Critic, a 2024 British period thriller film written by Patrick Marber, based on the 2015 novel Curtain Call by Anthony Quinn. The film stars Ian McKellen, Gemma Arterton, Mark Strong, Ben Barnes, Alfred Enoch, Romola Garai, and Lesley Manville.

Welcome to Hell Week where actors will do FOUR back to back Casting Workshops in one week! Plus you get the chance to meet and mingle with each other at our Monthly Mixer on the Friday before it all kicks off!

FRIDAY 28th MARCH 3pm - 5pm - JOIN OUR MONTHLY MIXER WITH DIRECTOR/PRODUCER ANAND TUCKER

This event is usually for our premium members but actors who book onto Hell Week will be granted a ticket! Meet the other actors joining you for Hell week plus our members for a welcoming coffee afternoon where you can listen to an open and honest Q&A session. The Monthly Mixers provide a relaxed and friendly environment for meaningful conversations and connections.

MONDAY 31st MARCH 6.30pm - 9.30pm - ABIR MOHAMMED (BBC Studios) TV CASTING WORKSHOP

Abir currently casts for the in-house casting department at BBC Studios where he was the main assistant for 'EastEnders'. Here he was able to assist the casting team with over 100 episodes of the soap, which included many actors' first TV credit as well as the new Mitchell family. He has a passion for platforming up and coming talent, and was able to cast for his own play 'Bhaijaan' in early 2025. Before that he worked as a Casting Assistant since 2022, where he assisted Vicki Thomson on shows such as 'FBI: International', 'Finders Keepers', 'The Mallorca Files' and more.

Steph is currently at Rachel Sheridan Sheridan Casting. She has worked across many film & TV projects including “Dodger” (BBC/NBC), Catherine Tate’s upcoming comedy “Hard Cell” (Netflix), TV series “Bulletproof” (Sky One), new limited series “Flowers in the Attic: The Origins (A&E)” and various others currently in development. She has previously assisted Catriona Dickie and Amanda Tabak.

Seth has most recently been co-casting director on Unforgotten 6 (Mainstreet for ITV), due for release in 2025. He was casting director on The Catch (Projector Pictures for Channel 5), the feature film Embers (Mini Productions) and also recently co-cast The Split 3 (BBC / Sister), This Time Next Year (BlackBox / Projector Pictures), The Serial Killer’s Wife (Paramount Plus) and Rebel Cheer Squad (Netflix / iPlayer)
He also cast the BAFTA-nominated short Nant and Her Majesty – both of which had official selection at the London Film Festival 2022.
As casting associate, he recently worked on the BAFTA-winning The Long Shadow (Mainstreet for ITV1), AIDS: The Unheard Tapes (Wall To Wall for BBC), Sherwood (House Productions), The Bubble (Netflix), Des (New Pictures), Starstruck (HBO Max / BBC Three), Worzel Gummidge (Leopard Pictures), Crossfire (Dancing Ledge Productions), World On Fire (Mammoth), Silent Witness (BBC), Baz Luhrmann’s The Secret Life of Flowers for ERDEM x H&M and the hit feature film Crawl (Paramount).

Ollie currently works at Harkin Toth Casting with recent credits include 'The Serpent Queen' and the upcoming series 'Dune: Prophecy'. He started as an agent’s assistant at Curtis Brown, where he worked for nearly 3 years, before making the move over to casting, where he could continue to develop his love for TV and film, and nurturing talent. HOW THE WORKSHOP WILL WORK
Actors will be assigned a scene or assigned a selection of scenes to choose from to self tape and submit back. The whole class will then join an online zoom meeting where each self tape is played back and critiqued one by one by the casting director. The session will then end in a Q&A.

Kitty is currently working as a Freelance casting assistant between the casting offices of Nina Gold, Nanw Rowlands and Lauren Evans.
Soon after graduating from Musical Theatre school, she started working as a freelance casting assistant for TV / Film. She started her casting journey at Elaine Grainger Casting in 2020, where she helped with various TV and Film projects.

This two part course will take you through from the basic sounds and features of general American to working with text, to seeing how your accent stands up under the pressure of a self tape.

The course dates run as follows:
Saturday 10th of May 11am-5pm
Saturday the 17th of May 11am- 5pm

In session one we will cover all of the key sounds of general American. If you are new to the accent this will give you the essential foundation you need to build upon. If you are more experienced it will be a chance to further refine and hone your understanding of the subtleties of placement and resonance we will then be putting our accents into action, playing with the complexities of text and language.

In session two we bring character into play, work shopping scenes that you’ll have had the chance to rehearse over the past week.
It’s an excellent opportunity to see how you perform under the pressure of a deadline and gain valuable insight in a professional yet supportive environment.

Material/ scenes will be different from prior courses making it suitable for those new to Rachel’s workshops as well as those who have attended before.

Rachel is an established voice and dialect coach who has worked in the industry - Theatre, T.V. and film - for over 25 years. Having herself begun her career as an actor, Rachel has a deep understanding of the needs of a performer and the vocal challenges they may face.
With a Masters in Professional Voice Practice, gained in association with the RSC Rachel’s clients include Oscar nominees, Bafta award winners as well as those working regularly in the West End and on Broadway. Theatre, TV and film companies she works with include Netflix, Amazon, Warner Brothers, BBC, Apple TV, Disney, Royal Court and National Theatre. She is also on call for many leading agents to help their talent build confidence and learn an accent quickly when the pressure is on and a big audition comes in!

Kate has been Casting Associate with the multiple award winning Casting Directors Nina Gold & Robert Sterne since 2013. Kate went to drama school at eighteen and worked as a professional actress for ten years. From here she moved into feature film production and worked her way up to Production Coordinator and worked on major feature films including Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, Green Zone, World War Z, Snow White and The Huntsman & Maleficent. Kate left production to pursue a more creative role and joined Nina Gold casting in 2013.
She has cast on high profile projects including Netflix The Crown, Chernobyl, Succession (UK Casting), Slow Horses, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Morbius and Game of Thrones amongst many others.
