How the workshop will work:
The session will start off with a Q&A about the voiceover business – We will discuss how to get started as a voiceover actor, where to find potential work/auditions, figuring out your voice type/brand, home studios, voiceover reels, and more. Actors will be assigned a selection of commercial voiceover scripts to choose from to perform in an online zoom meeting. Each student will be coached on the “commercial read” and critiqued by myself. No home studio required, but if you have a mic feel free to record your coaching session. Marisa uses her experience working on both sides of the business to get the best commercial read out of you – the one that will book you the job.
Marisa works in all genres of voiceover (animation, corporate, video games, etc), but commercial voiceover is her area of expertise. She has voiced hundreds of national and international commercials for clients such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Nivea, Coca-Cola, Mastercard, and many more. In addition to being a voiceover artist, Marisa also worked as a Casting Associate at one of the top On-camera commercial/voiceover casting offices in New York City, Grande/Morris Casting for three years.
