Rosie Akerman is a London-based professional actor and voiceover artist with years of experience across voice genres. Trained at the Academy of Live & Recorded Arts (ALRA), Rosie began her voice journey in drama school and now works across everything from audiobooks and radio drama to TV and gaming.

Ollie currently works at Harkin Toth Casting with recent credits include 'The Serpent Queen' and the upcoming series 'Dune: Prophecy'. He started as an agent’s assistant at Curtis Brown, where he worked for nearly 3 years, before making the move over to casting, where he could continue to develop his love for TV and film, and nurturing talent. Ollie has a passion for amplifying voices that have historically not been the most prevalent on screen, and TV and film that focusses on telling stories with a social message.

Welcome to HELL WEEK where actors will do FOUR back to back Casting Workshops in one week! Plus you get the chance to meet and mingle with each other at our Monthly Mixer on the Friday before.
Here is the current line up of events included in this package:
Friday 27th March 3.30pm-5pm - JOIN OUR MONTHLY MIXER with writer David Farr David Farr was Artistic Director of Bristol Old Vic from 2002 to 2005 and Lyric Hammersmith from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company as Associate Director. He wrote regularly for Spooks for the BBC and is a film writer having co-written the Joe Wright film Hanna, released in 2011. Farr's adaptation of John le Carré's novel The Night Manager was aired in 2016 on BBC One with the second series airing this year.
Monday 30th March | 2pm-5pm - Film & TV Casting Workshop with Michelle Giovanni (Aisha Bywaters Casting) Michelle has worked in Casting for 13 years. After taking a sabbatical, Michelle is currently working as a Casting Associate at Aisha Bywaters, having been an Associate at Shaheen Baig for 8 years. Over her career she has worked as an assistant to then becoming associate casting director, working on numerous TV and Film projects. Credits and work includes Oscar winning short ‘The Long Goodbye’, 'Ali & Ava’, ‘Everybody’s Talking about Jamie’, ‘Lady Macbeth and the TV series ‘Little Birds’ for HBO / Sky Atlantic as co-casting director alongside Shaheen. Most recently she has worked as an Associate at ABC on the upcoming 50 Cent boxing drama ‘FIGHTLAND’.
Tuesday 31st March | 6:30pm–9:30pm - Film and TV Casting Workshop with Simon Higgins (Olivia Scott-Webb Casting) Simon works primarily with Casting Director Olivia Scott-Webb, alongside casting his own projects. He plugged away as an actor for 10 years, before deciding to sidestep into the world of casting, and is now lucky enough to have seen things from both sides of the fence! He has just cast the feature film, Tidepools, directed by Marius D’Gasco. Credits as Associate include, BBC's, The Gold S2; newly announced My Oxford Year for Netflix starring Sofia Carson and Blue Moon, directed by Richard Linklater.
Wednesday 1st April | 6:30pm–9:30pm - Film and TV Casting Workshop with Olissa Rogers – Emmy Award Winning Casting Director Olissa Rogers won an Emmy for her work as Casting Director on African Queens: Njinga. Her other casting credits include Wednesday: Jenna Ortega, Ted Lasso, The Count of Monte Cristo, Damsel (Netflix), The Outlawz, to name but a few.
Thursday 2nd April | 7pm–10pm - Theatre Casting Workshop with Poppy Apter (Julie Horan Casting) Poppy is a Scottish casting professional currently working as a freelance assistant for Julia Horan. Poppy has also worked with casting directors Jessica Ronane, Nina Gold, Jina Jay, Fiona Weir and Jim Arnold. She trained on the National Film and Television School's Casting Certificate, as well as at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She recently cast short film Drowning for Cut+Roll Films, executive produced by Nicholas Pinnock. Theatre credits as Casting Assistant for Julia Horan include: Romeo & Juliet (Empire Street Productions), John Proctor is the Villain (The Royal Court), Jaja's African Hair Braiding (Lyric Hammersmith).

This unique one-day workshop is a first of its kind collaboration between the London Meisner Company, and Mixing Networks.
Designed for actors seeking to refine their on-screen presence, this workshop blends the emotional depth and authenticity of the Meisner approach with practical skills for delivering compelling performances in front of the camera.
**Objective:** To equip actors with the tools to create truthful, emotionally connected performances using the Meisner technique, while translating these skills into effective on-camera acting for film, television, and digital media.
**Key Learning Outcomes:** - Understand the fundamentals of the Meisner technique, including emotional availability and listening and apply Meisner principles specifically to the demands of on-screen acting. - Understand camera awareness, framing, and technical considerations for film and TV performance. - Enhance confidence in making bold, authentic choices in front of the camera.
The day will consist of:
- A morning of doing Meisner exercises with Founder and Owner of The London Meisner Company Robyn Paterson. These will include Tone work, Single Word Repetition, Calling on Behaviour, Calling on Behaviour and Repetition with the text. The aim being to help free up your work.
- Lunch break
- An afternoon working with founder and owner of Mixing Networks Michael Gamarano Singleton on a chosen scene. Actors will be given a scene to prepare and work alongside each other on camera. They will be using the techniques given to them in the morning to help free up their screen technique and work with a director to guide them through the scene.
